Setelah menyingkirkan batasan-batasan yang menahan langkah untuk menjadi wirausaha, anda mungkin merasa lebih siap untuk terjun kebidang usaha. namun tak jarang anda mendengar hal-hal yang memudarkan keberanian anda, mitos-mitos yang membuat anda berfikir ulang. berikut ini beberapa mitos-mitos penghalang berwirausaha :

1. Usaha kecil hanya memberikan keuntungan yang tidak berarti.

2. Tidak ada peluang usaha yang tersisa lagi.
banyak orang berfikir sulit untuk memulai berwirausaha karena sudah banyak pemain diusaha kecil. sebenarnya, yang perlu kita lakukan adalah jeli mencari peluang untuk ikut "bermain" dibidang tertentu.

3. Usaha kecil kalah dengan usaha besar dalam persaingan.
tidak selamanya usaha besar mengalahkan usaha kecil. kalau anda merasa kalah modal atau kalah promosi dengan usaha besar, carilah celah untuk memberikan keunggulan tersendiri dari usaha anda. misalnya anda membuat usaha jus buah segar, untuk memberikan nilai lebih pada usaha anda, anda dapat menambahkan layanan pesan-antar.

4. Usaha Kecil sering gagal
mitos ini muncul karena biasanya memang diperlukan waktu yang cukup lama untuk berhasil dalam bisnis. salah satu kunci kesuksesan di usaha kecil adalah "ketabahan" untuk bertahan dalam masa-masa sulit. misalnya, biasanya bisnis makanan perlu waktu sekitar 3 - 6 bulan untuk bisa dikenal dan disukai pelanggan.

5. Saya tidak dilahirkan dengan bakat pengusaha
mungkin inilah mitos yang paling sering anda dengar : "saya tidak ada keturunan pengusaha, orang tua saya pegawai, guru, petani,atau lainnya. "sebenarnya, kalau bicara soal keturunan, kakek dan nenek moyang kita, nabi Adam as dan Hawa adalah pengusaha. mereka bukan karyawan karena tidak bekerja pada siapa-siapa. mereka diberi kuasa oleh tuhan untuk mengelola tanah, taman dan hewa untuk kehidupan mereka. jadi, tidak ada alasan bahwa kita bukan keturunan pengusaha.

6. Usaha kecil lebih berupa usaha otot daripada usaha otak
tidak semua usaha kecil mengandalkan otot. anda bisa menggunakan otak untuk mendapatkan keuntungan. dengan memanfaatkan teknologi informasinya yang murah seperti telepon, SMS, dan e-mail, anda bisa mencari uang, baik full time maupun part time.
